Meet the team

We have a dynamic staff that have been successfully providing physiotherapy services to a variety of people in the Ashburton region for over 25 years. 
 
Our Physiotherapists are highly experienced in their respective specialities and work together to ensure optimal treatment and rehabilitation for you. 

We offer a wide range of services to meet the demands of a diverse community.  From sports and musculoskeletal rehabilitation, hand therapy, women's health and continence advice, vestibular rehabilitation and the Falls Prevention Programme.

Jane Eaton

Experience
Jane has been a physiotherapist in Ashburton for 25 years. Prior to that she worked in the hospital and community at Palmerston North and Dunedin.
Jane has a depth of experience in musculo-skeletal, acupuncture, post-operative rehabilitation and women’s health ad continence physiotherapy.

Karla Poyner

Karla has over 10 years experience as a Physiotherapist completing her Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Credit at Otago University in 2002 and receiving the School of Physiotherapy Athletic Shield for sporting and academic achievement.  In 2012 she completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Physiotherapy endorsed in Acupuncture.  In 2012 Karla undertook further study in Vestibular Rehabilitation at AUT, passing her competency exams.  She has also completed a 'Masters by coursework' paper in Neuroscience at the University of Melbourne, The McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy A, B, C and E and DMA Clinical Pilates A and B. 

Karla's areas of interest include Vestibular rehabilitation, Western Acupuncture and Musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Karla is a registered Physiotherapist Acupuncturist with PAANZ, a member PNZ (Physiotherapy New Zealand) and registered with the New Zealand Registration Board of Physiotherapy.

Clare Kiamtia

Clare graduated in the UK and has been a physiotherapist since 1997.

She is a registered Hand Therapist with specialist post graduate training in hand rehabilitation. Hand therapists diagnose and treat a wide variety of upper limb conditions following trauma, disease process e.g. arthritis and disorders e.g. overuse, enabling clients to return to work, daily function and recreation.

Clare holds a Hand Therapy Contract with ACC.  ACC will cover the full cost of assessment, treatment and splinting for accepted claimants.

Self referrals can be made.

Caroline Polson

Experience
Caroline has been a Physiotherapist for over 10 years working predominantly in private physiotherapy clinics in New Zealand.  As a keen sports person herself she enjoys treating athletes of all ages; both recreational and professional and has enjoyed working with netball, touch rugby and rugby sports teams over this time. 

Caroline has recently completed a  research masters aimed at reducing lower limb injuries in netball players, a particular passion of hers.  Her main areas of interest are sports, manipulative and exercise prescription physiotherapy as well as injury prevention.

Elspeth Jaine

Elspeth has worked in various fields of physiotherapy over the years, most recently involving children's development and geriatrics.  Her present role is as provider of the Falls Prevention Programme.

Elspeth has a keen interest in good health as we age and particularly in maintaining optimal levels of activity and fitness.
